eCDP is the first "game" released apart of the eSmart program. eCDP stands for "eCrew Development Program" and was used to train new employees in about 3,700 stores on how to work at McDonalds where each store was equipped with 2 McDonalds' branded DS systems for training purposes. eCDP was never offically released to the public in any form but was confirmed to be in the hands of a collector under the username of "Coddy Trentuit". But sadly even though Coddy had access to the game, he rufused to share any rom on the internet due to legal reasons. On top of that the game was also locked behind a password which Coddy didnt have. The game was considered lost media until November 17, 2020 (11/17/2020) when a Youtuber named Nick Robinson published a video titled "The 10-Year Hunt for the Lost McDonald's DS Game" (which can be found here) where he went over the history of the lost game and then revealed how he got his hands on it. After the video was published he released a full play through of the game on Youtube (which can be found here) and also dumped the game's rom file which allowed everyone to enjoy and preserve the game.
The eCDP/eSmart program started in 2009 and seems to have ended in about 2015. Both eSmart and eCDP had an estimated budget of about 200 million yen which is about 2.2mil USD.
Even though the eSmart program ended in 2015 the game's new discovery has spawned several new discoveries such as a hidden mastercode found by Discord User "RevoMan". The Mastercode is as follows: "0QKDE9". Another Discord user by the name of "Silica" has found how to boot directly into a secret soundtest menu and a store layout editor by changing some hexcode values in the games code. If you would like to boot into either of these menus you can download the savestates here:
